| Felix Barham | I am concerned with construction. My paintings try to explore the characteristics of paint, its physicality and its nature to change over a period of time. I embrace and encourage this aspect of painting to change (rust and decay) and evolve through various techniques of manipulation. |

Each different colour represents a different person and the interaction of the colours represents the relationship between the different people. The glass slides are to be used as a metaphor for looking at the idea of judging oneself and each other. |

My work involves using salt to depict life. The salt is mixed with water and different acrylic colours, these then go through a process. This process signifies the journey through life people make. During this journey the salt is dissolved in the water. This signifies the absence of time in our lives. In the end the salt reappears and the salt solution falls on the canvas and makes random shapes and colours. These random shapes and patterns are meant to represent the randomness of life. |

The paintings depict individuals within a particular environment. Juxtaposed next to this is a separate painting of a landscape. By this juxtaposition I am trying to suggest either what landscape the person is in or what landscape they wish to be. By separating these images in two, I am trying to point to a segregation of space or, more specifically, of individuals within space. |
